“Grit is that ‘extra something’ that separates the most successful people from the rest. It’s the passion, perseverance, and stamina that we must channel in order to stick with our dreams until they become a reality.” – Travis Bradberry
Meet Kendal
Kendal Lehari embodies Grit. Born into a family of horse people, Kendal learned early on about the hard work and dedication needed to find success as a professional equestrian athlete. She has an eagle eye for spotting talented young horses, and the expertise to cultivate that talent for the top levels of the sport. It is a journey with each horse that takes close to a decade, and Kendal has committed herself to building a pipeline of horses that will ensure her dreams become a reality.
Today, she finds herself on the cusp of being a regular face on the Canadian National Eventing Team. Kendal’s short term goals are the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile and 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France which she plans to contest with the top horse in her barn, Audacious. READ MORE
About The Sport
Three Day – what? EVENTING.
Not the most widely known sport, but undoubtedly one of the most exciting. Three-Day Eventing (Eventing) is an equestrian sport with roots in military training that was designed to test the attributes of horse and horse person most important for elite cavalry. Akin to a triathlon on horseback, Eventing tests obedience, bravery and athletic ability in each of the phases of competition. The cross country phase is what draws competitors to the sport due to the exhilaration of galloping in open fields, jumping solid fences, into water and over ditches. Cross country hooked Kendal, and from the age of 11 when she completed her first event, she hasn’t looked back.

Meet Kendal’s Partner
Kendal’s top horse is Audacious, known to his friends as Junior, a precocious grey gelding who enjoys jumping out of his field for fun when he isn’t competing. Kendal spotted Junior as a three-year-old and from his first ride through to his first appearance on a Canadian Team, she has been responsible for his training. In addition to Junior, Kendal competes multiple other upper-level mounts and two young horses that she purpose-bred to be her next partners.
